- Instruments -We don't carry drum sets but we do have more exotic percussion. (Of course, we'll order a drum set, cello, guitar, sitar, etc. if you want.) Some pieces are from Latin Percussion and Remo others are made by individual artists. Harmonious Balance carries instruments we find intriguing. Many come from various parts of the world and may look different as well as have unusual sounds. It's about the sound & the variety. Dholak, Tablas, Riq, Tar Rine & Bullroarer, Tik Tok.. Talking Drums that change pitch as they are squeezed. Mbiras - wooden & metal thumb drums that are tunable. Finger Drum for that small spot on your desk. Djembes both pretuned & tunable. Buffalo drums to play with hand or beater. Octagonal drums of deer hide & cedar made by Dan Bray that has marvelous "singers." River Cane & wooden courting flutes that exude peace & comfort. Drumming is an active form of meditation. Drumming is great for fun & relaxation. As you drum, listen for the "singers" that may be vocals or other instruments. You may not hear them all the time but feel blessed when you do. Vibra Tones & Whistle Tubes are really considered sound effects but you'll find them here because of their exotic nature along with shakers of Nuts from Nigeria. Middle eastern drums some with several spellings. You may see items listed as Dumbek, Dumbeck, Doumbek or other spellings - all seem to be in general usage.
